What a busy week for the first week in February! Mom came up Tues night and she brought me a new used sewing cabinet. It's exactly like her old one. We spent all day Thurs rearranging my sewing room so I could maximize space (since it's also the guest bedroom). I can't wait to sew down there.
Then it was time for the Crafter's Retreat. It was such a great weekend, visiting with friends, sewing, making bracelets and little pocket scrapbooks, attending classes (like MK's machine quilting class shown below), getting a massage, and eating and eating and shopping.
I had some UFO's to finish. The Clifford quilt was a project I had been working on for the last five years when I'd get a chance. I am really glad it's finally done. The tablerunner I can't take credit for. My good friend, KV, made it and never got the chance to finish it. Her daughter gave it to me to finish. The snowman wall hanging was supposed to be a Christmas gift for my mom, but since she helped with over 90% of it, it probably is just a gift. The purse was a fluke. Everyone was making bags that weekend and I wanted to try it so I would know how to do it, but I didn't want to start a complicated project. Mom and I happened on a template that was a fabric panel. We made a copy, cut it out, and had it together in no time (but still more time than it claimed it took!). It's even reversible. I can't wait to try to make some for gifts.
It was such an amazing weeknd and I love spending time with my mom. We always have fun and somehow still manage to get stuff accomplished, (besides eating chocolate and DQ!).
Can't wait for next year!
While we were at the retreat, T called and reported that AD had something to tell me. Her front top teeth had been loose for awhile and it seems she took the initiative to yank one out. Then we got home Sun night and the other is so loose it was ready to be swallowed! A little tug and now we have the toothless wonder you see below. (Also couldn't resist a pic of Gma and the kids.)
Enjoy your day!
