just a day

I couldn't resist changing my blog picture up above. I know it says DaisiesNLilacs and those are daisies and tulips, but my lilacs haven't bloomed yet to pull off the correct picture. (Besides, the daisy picture from my front yard last year was dying and sad looking). These flowers were from our dinner the other night. The daisies were given to me by my MIL on Easter! Can you believe they still look that good? (I'm just not sure how to make the picture smaller so that it's not so overwhelming when you open it. Any suggestions, anyone?)

Check out the sleepy boy. He decided he was going to help me in the garden (I didn't even get there) and so he was wearing my gardening gloves. What's that saying, Real Men aren't Afraid to Wear Pink? ;-)

His hair is all spiked because he decided a peanut butter sandwich should be in your hair instead of your mouth. Nice, huh?

Enjoy your day!

Pix finally!

Look at these two cuties! The one on the left is the only yellow with a black nose (just like Jake). (Speaking of the father himself, he is in the doghouse right now. Got out again today and I had to go look for him this morning. Breeding him out is not good for us in some ways.)

I've been posting the pix of the puppies in this same box. I think this might be the last post in this box. They are getting too big for it. They are so cute now that they are moving around and their eyes are open.

In addition to puppies, AT's bday is tomorrow. We had his party yesterday and then he had some friends over today. He certainly enjoyed opening his presents.

His sisters had fun picking some little things out for him. We got him a big boy bed (I know he's not quite there yet, but he sure seems to love it.)

Not sure what happened to my pictures when I posted them, but oops! Guess you can tell it's going to be one of those days!

Enjoy your day!

still here

That seems to be a popular title for my blogs because my auto title format-thing brought it right up when I went to type it! Anyhow, I am still here, but trying to get through the next few days. Had a small birthday party with family for AT today (after Sunday School, Church, and a meeting in the TC for Daycamp this summer). Nothing like a relaxing Sunday (ha)! He really seemed to enjoy his gifts. I'll post a pic or two later.

Also went and saw the puppies on Fri. They are getting to be sooooo big! And their eyes are open now. They are going to be a handful when they all start moving. I'll post pix of them later, too.

Right now, I feel like sitting down with my feet up (until the dishwasher is done and needs to be unloaded and reloaded) and then going directly to bed!

Hope you enjoyed your day!

Is it May yet?

I certainly hope not! I have a lot of things coming up in the next week. Including little man's bday! Hard to believe he is turning 3. Check out his first bday pic! (he he he) I'd like to say he's slimmed down a bit, but . . .

Maybe in the face a little bit. And his arms aren't quite that roly-poly. But that is all him still, reaching for the cake! We have our playgroup this Mon and I invited everyone up to our house so it will kind of be like a bday party for him (with friends). The family one might be Sun. I can't wait to put his bday present up! I will post pix after Sun.

Well the warmer weather has retreated again and we are back to 60-ish weather. (With the breeze it feels a little cooler than that.) Subbed yesterday and working tomorrow. T has games this weekend, but we aren't going because we have too much to do. AD is so tired after tball games and AJ wants to get ready for the Talent Show. I just want them to go outside and play, but we may have to compromise (I don't think I spelled that right, but you all know what I meant).

We didn't make it over to see the puppies yesterday, but we are going tomorrow. My friend called and said that some are starting to open their eyes! Hopefully more will have them open by the time we get there. I'll post the Puppy Pix update tomorrow night.

Enjoy your day!

warm weather & work

Okay so the warmer weather hits and while I enjoy it, sometimes I loathe it because that means yard work! Yard work reminds me of laundry, doing dishes, cleaning, and making meals. It's neverending and constantly needing attention and one more thing on my list of things to do. Now, don't get me wrong, I love a clean house & dishes (a little more sanitary for eating of course), clean clothes (that's a bonus to people who meet you I suppose) and a nice looking yard. However, I'm starting to look for things with a sense of completion to them. (Like reading a book, quilting, doing puzzles.) I know it sounds like I love my hobbies and despise my chores, but can't I have a 2 yr old moment for a few seconds? We all know I'll end up doing it anyway eventually. (I said eventually, not immediately.)

That being said, yard work does start to pay off eventually (there's that word again). T has been wanting to do something with the little (ha ha ha not so little once you start working on it!) patch of grass (more like weeds) between the roads for a few years. Well, he started burning tumbleweeds the other day and we finally finished pulling weeds & burning today. The plan is to plant trees for a windbreak and maybe some grass. It's no longer a fire hazard. It certainly looks better than it did and you can tell it's not as brown as it was. We are slowly making progress.

The picture is not the greatest, but it looks so amazing considering how it's looked for the last 4 years. (The cool thing about this picture is I took 3 pictures of the front with my camera and the software that came with it managed to merge all three pictures into one!)
Yesterday was a double header and it was really nice weather. It's so hard to keep the kids from getting sunburned. We found out yesterday that Jake's (our dog) father lives right across the street from where he was yesterday. In fact, his sister happened to be visisting as well. Kind of cool since we haven't seen any dogs from the litter or his parents since we got him (he'll be 3 in May). Hoping to get some pix of them before they leave to go back to OR.
I guess I don't know too much else. I'm going to be sore tonight, I'm sure. Lugging stuff out to the games yesterday and pulling weeds and burning today is going to do a number on me. Good news is I should sleep like a baby. So should the kids for that matter since they've been outside the last two days non-stop. Here's to fresh air!
Enjoy your day!

Tball, Puppies, & Makeup, OH MY!!

AD had her first tball game on Tues. She got on base all three times. And you can see that she waved to me every time she did!

Puppy Update:

Look at the size of these two. This picture actually shows the difference in the sizes. The yellow male is one of the biggest (if not the biggest) and the black female is very petite. She is probably the smallest of the lot. Look at the mug on the yellow one!

If you look at an earlier post, you can see the difference in how the fill up the box. Last week (yes, they are only a week old and you will probably get weekly pix & updates, so go ahead and groan now!) they didn't fill the box up quite as much. Amazing how they grow in one week! Their eyes are not open yet, but they are starting to use their legs to move around. They had their dew claws removed on Mon (oww!).

Notice the brown stuff on AT's face? When I was getting ready to go to work today, he thought he needed to put some makeup on, too. (He certainly is getting in touch with his feminine side!) I didn't even start wearing eyeliner until a year or two ago and he's already trying to! He missed as you can see.
Enjoy your day!

A Wedding & Easter Greetings

Yesterday was AD's Kindergarten Q&U Wedding. (For those of you confused, they try to teach the kids that U is always there to help out Q and they are together for a long time.) AD was one of the ushers for the ceremony. She did a great job!

The Q is the groom and the U is the bride. There's a short (30 second) ceremony and then we had cake and punch. The kids also handed out little rings to everyone and bubbles. After bubbles, the kids (honored guests were parents and a 6th grade class) participated in the Chicken Dance. (It wouldn't be a wedding without the Chicken Dance!)

AD & the "bride U"

Well, the sun is shining, but it's slightly chilly. That didn't stop the kids from being outside all day. Last night they had a some friends over and watched "The Tale of Desperaux." They should sleep nicely tonight!

Our plans tomorrow are to go to our Easter service and then have the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Gma & Gpa's. Easter Greetings to you and your family!

Enjoy your day!

Only 9

Well, before I go to bed, we heard tonight that the little runt did not make it. She was a little trooper and so sweet. Our friend tried everything to help it, but sometimes these things are out of our hands.

Good Night

Puppy Day

We are going to see the puppies tonight. I talked to my friend this morning. Ten puppies: 5 male and 5 females; 4 black, 4 yellow, and 2 chocolate. Can't wait to go see them! I'll post pictures later! (I'm not a little excited, huh?) Enjoy your day!

***********************************************************************************

Here they are:

10 puppies: 2 black females (although one is the little runt you see squeezed in between those two yellows and yes, she is that little!), 2 black males, 2 yellow females, 2 yellow males, 1 chocolate female and 1 chocolate male

Look at the different colors of the yellows!
Almost 4 different shades

This is the little runt. She is so sweet, but we are holding our
breath as to whether she will make it or not.

Look at the cool markings on this one's head (chocolate male)

Chocolate female!

Well have pictures to come weekly so you'll have to keep checking back!

Enjoy your day!

The Puppies Are Here!

Jake's a daddy!!!

Our friend called tonight and said that Mocha (their chocolate lab) had started having puppies this afternoon. We went down to visit her and she had three (all males) before we got there and had another one (a yellow female) while we were there.

So cute!!
(These three are all males.)

Proud mama Mocha

More pictures to come tomorrow. We are going to take the kids down there tomorrow to see them.
Enjoy your day!

It's Over :-(

Spring Break is over. It was an interesting week (to say the least) and although I don't have any exciting news, we did accomplish quite a bit. We got some yard work done (once the snow finally melted and it warmed back up) and tried to get some sick kids healthy again. We went to town (just T & I!!!) and did some errands. Got some work done on the rental so that it can be all ready to sell. All in all, it was a pretty relaxing week, but we got enough done I feel like I can actually put a check next to "items done." There's nothing more frustrating than starting projects and not finishing them (I've got my blinders on right now- he he he).

The weather is finally starting to hint towards spring. It was probably in the 60's the last two days and we are headed for 70's today and tomorrow. Quite a change from the snow we had on Wed. Finally!

AD starts tball practice tomorrow. AJ is not playing, but I said she could help out if she wants to. We'll see how far that goes. T doesn't have a game until next Tues, but he will have some scouting to do this weekend. Spring break is over and the craziness resumes!

Enjoy your day!

April Fool's

I found this picture on my camera. It was AJ's last vball game. I was keeping score and was able to snap the picture with the camera sitting on the table. She certainly had a good time playing vball this year.

And then just because no one would believe me and think it was just an April's Fools joke, I took pictures to prove it. It SNOWED today!!!! We left Yakima this morning and it was spitting snow and we thought "It's just Yakima and the mountain effect." I mean yesterday we got hail, rain, snow, and wind during the baseball games and it was so cold! We got home and from 12:30 this afternoon until . . . well it's still snowing as I type!

There's got to be at least an inch out there. And the biggest flakes I ever saw coming down for the last hour or so!

Is it April that comes in like a lion and out like a lamb or March? Either way, I'm hoping for a lamb real soon!!
Enjoy your day!
